Flights were disrupted at Jersey Airport for a second consecutive night after reports of drones operating near the airfield. Police are investigating and have appealed for witnesses, but no suspect has been identified.

Jersey Airport said on Saturday evening that flight movements were affected by further drone activity in the vicinity of the airfield. The disruption followed a similar incident on Friday night, when three flights travelling from the UK were diverted.

ITV News reported that airport staff notified authorities shortly after 8pm on Saturday. Several inbound flights were unable to land, while some aircraft returned to their departure airports or were diverted elsewhere.

States of Jersey Police said they were dealing with reports of multiple drones close to the airport and mounted a multi-agency response. Officers have asked anyone with information, including footage recorded near the airport, to contact them.

The reports do not establish who was responsible or what their motive was.

The reported drone activity has disrupted flight movements on both nights. Jersey Airport’s disruption guidance advised passengers to check directly with their airline before travelling.

The disruption on the second night is a new development in the investigation. It does not establish whether the same drone or operator was involved in both incidents.
